My law practice was established to serve people with disabilities and their families because this is what I love doing. I have fourteen years of expertise in intellectual and developmental disability law. As a sibling of a person with developmental disabilities, I understand the challenges that families face: worry about the future, navigating complex legal systems, and advocating for change. Let my passion and experience help you and your family.
I help families of individuals with disabilities understand their estate planning options and develop a comprehensive plan. I also establish special needs trusts so individuals can maintain eligibility for government benefits.
I have particular experience in helping families decide if a guardianship or conservatorship is the right step for an individual with disabilities, or if another alternative might work better. I work to ensure that a guardianship is tailored to meet the individual’s needs and desires and allows them to meet their full potential.
I represent individuals in obtaining and maintaining Social Security benefits (SSI & SSDI) and Oregon Developmental Disability Services benefits. I advocate directly with the agencies, represent clients at administrative hearings, or provide information to assist clients in becoming their own effective advocate.
I represent students and their families in developing appropriate educational plans and resolving conflicts with school districts. I provide guidance to parents, advocate directly with school districts, and attend IEP meetings.
